Sterling suggested I work on s9y back when it was called jBlog. I was heavily frustrated with Movable Type, particularly by the fact that I had to learn a new templating language to format my blog even though I already knew a number of perfectly good web scripting languages.

Currently my work on s9y has tapered off as other things occupy my time, but I still actively maintain the XML-RPC interface (Blogger, (Meta Weblog) and MT compatibility for authoring tools). I still harbor ambitions to complete the multi-blog (similar to MT) support in s9y.
