I joined the project shortly after it was established as "jBlog" on sourceforge. I was new to blogging, but interested in seeing how the various blogging standards and API's could be applied to a commercial news and collaboration application.
My contributions to s9y as it is now include the database "abstraction" layer and the plugin API (which allows multiple instances of a given plugin).
I haven't had all that much time for s9y in recent times, but luckily we've had some enthusiastic "young blood" join the project who've helped to crank it up a few notches :-)
