hmmm, I checked out the CVS two hours ago but I can't see the function working. Strange....

Or did you only commit it to the smarty branch? This would be bad as I don't want to break my template currently ;)

by now, it works flawlessly (just showing the wrong "installed version" in the config area, but apart from that it's fine :) )

okay :)
Apart from that, if you have shell access, you can always use CVS to update your files, and it will leave your changes intact...
Thanks guys, I'll try that!

Update procedure; manual patches

Hi there, in my s9y installation, I made several changes (Wiki notation starting from a specific blog entry, but also some environment variable issues due to a manual installation of ImageMagick in my web server account). When upgrading to a newer version (what is needed quite often due to s9y's dev...

*but*....

how can I change this now? If I enable it, any (and I *mean* any) previous entry is totally "f***ed up" ;)

There's no possibility to enable it "per entry", is there? :? (I don't want to rewrite my whole blog in wiki style  )

*ahem* I should really have taken a look at it before posting  (just searching the forum obviously wasn't sufficient)

Thanks! ;)

Wiki Notation

Salvete! When I was blogging five minutes ago, something came to my mind: How about implementing the possibility of a Wiki-like notation? In fact I wanted to do a list and started each line with an asterisk just to realize that this works in the wikipedia but not in my blog  What do you think ...

thanks ;) Image cropping can probably just be done through some kind of java script - or java applet? Then it would probably be better to allow to "change" an image that's already in the gallery. One could then save it *over* the old one or as a new image. Otherwise image quality will cons...

Request: some image processing

in fact, I'd really like to see the possibility to mirror an image. So you could download it from a remote location (<-- extremely good feature, anyway! Thanks for that :) ), have it mirrored and put in the media gallery automagically. If I want to have the picture on the opposite side of the text, ...

Am I crazy answering to my own post for the third time? 8) It WORKS now. blogg.de now also reads the content:encoded tags. More information is found in my (of course s9y) weblog . Greets to all Elwood P.S.: Nevertheless: are you 100% sure you meet the RSS standard correctly? I can't tell :-/

okay - good news. They put it on the list for the next workaround :D But the guy I talked to still mentioned that he thought, the description directive had always to be included in an RSS 2.0 feed according to the specification . Reading it again, I think he's right. "Required channel elements&...

okay, right - I did so and it works now. (The patch you can find here.)

Of course I will let you know what the blogg.de people said.

In fact this redundancy is so weird. Why not burn the net traffic at once  :?

Okay I will talk to the blogg.de guys about that - and until they change it, I will probably patch my s9y to ping with version 1 rss :?

Thanks a lot

XML-RPC pings with RSS 2.0 don't provide description tag

Hi folks, as I am automagically pinging blogg.de blog service when posting something new to my weblog, I recently wondered why there is no text excerpt displayed on their site. When asking their support guys, we realized that the RSS 2.0 feed from serendipity doesn't provide a description tag anymor...
