Hathor, that's right. Serendipity 0.9 not older than about 3 weeks is required.

I tried both to see some differences. I wanted to mainly try out the file managers or image managers. I got errors when trying to use both file managers.

Here is the error I got with the FCKeditor:

This connector is disabled. Please check the
"editor/filemanager/browser/default/connectors/php/config/php" file

I just uploaded FCKeditor, installed the plugin in s9y and copied the fckconfig.js file from the even plugin directory into the fckeditor directory. Is that all I was supposed to do to enable the added features?

I'm using iBrowser and iManager with Fckeditor.

Ok this is one more additional step.
go to
plugins/serendipity_event_fckeditor/fckeditor/editor/filemanager/browser/default/connectors/php/config.php

open it up and change
$Config['Enabled'] = true ;
$Config['UserFilesPath'] = '/uploads/' ;

that will enable BROWSING. and default to ur uploads directory.

then go to
plugins/serendipity_event_fckeditor/fckeditor/editor/filemanager/upload/php/config.php

and do the same, that will enable uploading to ur server. FCKeditor will create 4 directories in ur uploads folder. file, image, media and flash, and can only see files inside them, not outside them.

Sorry i will mention that in the instructions.

also Image Manager in Xinha does not work. I'm reading documentation but it isn't working.

I got it to work by changing the path for my install. Thanks for all the work on these plugins.

Er, FCK is showing my main page inside the box where I should be typing.

I remember it did this with Drupal when I installed it there. Can't remember what the fix was, though.

Is that the only change? No need to update if I already have filemanager and imagemanager working?!

actually the v0.1 does not work under IE
this one fixes that problem.
also i enabled imanager, and commented it out. So anyone wanting imanager can install it and uncomment the necessary code.

Oh just realized the FCKeditor has 333 open bugs as of today.
thats simply a lot.
Xinha being in development has 13 open bugs.
Tinymce has 73 bugs.

hmm

Xinha also puts my index page in the box... at first. Then it gives me 6 error boxes that say "an error has occurred" which I then have to click "ok". Once all THAT is done, it seems to work.

But then when I tried to see a preview of my new entry, it tacked on every comment that's ever been made on the blog (which may be because I have comments set to display automatically).

I'm using Firefox on Mac.

OK i just updated Xinha to use "Manage Images" using S9Y's code. So now u can manage and add images just like u did in default editor :)

on the side note i still haven't gotten its default insert image button to work. But hey who needs it, u have the excellent Manage Images functionality :)

garvin I have updated FCKeditor and XINHA. can u please upload it to CVS. u can download it from the same location as the first post
thank you

Oh Hathor (isnt hathor an Egyptian goddess) I have no idea why it isn't working for you. Can u check ur installation again. Do a synchronization with ur server. perhaps some files were not uploaded correctly

Thanks a lot! Both got updated. :)

If you update those plugins in the future, could you mail me the changes, so that I don't overlook them? Many thanks! :)

Best regards and many thanks for your great work and support,
Garvin

I didn't try TinyMCE. So it's actually FCK and Xinha giving me roughly the same error.

Xinha actually works - it just gives me 6 error messages and loads my main page in the box before letting me start typing in the box. FCK does nothing but stick my index page in the entry box.

Yes, I'm using 9 alpha 4. As for rechecking my installation, I deleted the old one and reloaded from scratch. I'm not sure what you mean by doing a sync with my server...? It looks like the files are on there and everything's fine.

On your host, did you use the "home/username/public_html..." type path, or the "plugins/..." type? Mine was the plugins type path. If it's not a path issue, I'm wondering about htaccess, which seems to be the source of every trouble I have lately, LOL.

for me the plugins path works not the homepage path
and for me all 3 work except tinymce sticks my index page in the editor. but thats what it is suppose to do, it's part of tinymce default installation.

yeah i was reading ur other posts and ur having lots of problems :?

u do have javascript enabled right.
the folder name is fckeditor not FCKeditor

u know what in fckeditor folder there is a samples folder. try them out. lets see if they work
call them like this
http://thehathorlegacy.info/plugins/ser ... fault.html

i.e if that is the correct path
