after the user confirms their account via email they get the following message:
The account has been successfully enabled. You can now log in to the administative panel of this blog, the link is contained in your activation email.
they also see the plugin not only in the sidebar where it should be but right below this message in the main column.
how do i remove the plugin from the main column as they would not ned to register again???

Yes, that happens because the sidebar plugin is not required for the plugin to operate - so the message needs to be shown somewhere in that case.
It would get a bit awkward and much work to hide the text in one of the plugins if the other is activated and has already added the user and I think it's just a minor visual oddity. It can of course be changed if one gets down to modify the plugin files.
