Installation failure - file uploads are off

I've tried installing both the stable and the beta versions.
I set the permissions as requested and the check says these are OK, but there is a fatal error for file_uploads.

This seems to be set wrong in php.ini. I didn't have this file but I created it and inserted the appropriate entries; however, it doesn't seem to be recognized. I placed it in both the root and the serendipity directories.

Probably something I'm missing in the docs but I haven't been able to find it.

Hi!

You must ask your server provider to set this file_uploads setting accordingly. usually you yourself cannot change it. It is unrelated to Serendipity, it is causes by your PHP setup!
