Hi Rexxer!

So do I understand you right that if you remove the Emoticate plugin it works?

And if you re-install the Emoticate plugin, the bug is there again? No matter atwhat position the emoticate plugin is?

Regards,
Garvin

Nope, that doesn't do it for me. I tried even copying all the files of 200611172342's nightly over the ones that were there. That only helps if I (accidentaly) keep Exit Tracking disabled, as I did on my server. After I enabled tracking again it still doesn't work.
Sorry Rexxer you're right. After saving the nex article it was broken again. So uninstalling, upgrading and reinstalling the exittracker did only work for elder articles. Whre there seems to be a difference between articles with permalinks and archive articles (but I've to figure this out further.

That's right. It also works if I disable emoticate for the entrybody and/or extended entry. So it has something to do with what emoticate does with the entries it processes.

Any news about this?

The must current nightly still shows the odd behavior for me (and it also sends trackbacks twice for some strange reason, as could be seen here where I just had one link in the articel which I saved with emoticate disabled.

Hi!

I tried to reproduce it on 2 installs, but failed. On both installs with the latest nightly it works for me, both with or without the emoticate plugin.

I guess Iwould need FTP or SSH access to your blog to have an exact look, or maybe you can setup a test installation for me that exhibits the problem?

Bestregards,
Garvin

That's really strange. I get this error on both, my local and my official blog. Maybe it's a combination of more plugins, but the error definitely disappears as soon as I disable emoticate.

I'm not the admin on that server, so I'd have a bit of difficulty creating an FTP or SSH user, but I'll ask my hoster if that's possible. I'll report back as soon as I have an answer.

Hi!

The error was related to PHP 4.4.1 which was a buggy releease and messed with pointers.

Okay, I'll ask my hoster to update to a more recent flavor of PHP then. I guess, I should update my local server from PHP 4.3.10-16, too.

Thanks for your looking into my problem.

Andre

You're welcome -- did you get my email as well that I sent you an hour before this forum posting?

Yes, I saw your mail only after posting here because that mail was routed to another subfolder of my IMAP box. I'll wait and see what my hoster says about the PHP update. Until then I'll probably better refrain from updating unless I want to redo your modifications (which I won't even claim to understand - maybe I should start reading a bit about PHP).

Unfortunately I don't have an update for my local server around, I just tried that. And I don't think I want to try PHP3. ;-)

Greetings,
Andre
